This image was used in an article promoting the local community theatre. Rock of Ages is an exciting Broadway musical featuring music and costumes from the 1980s. It has been a huge hit and the biggest show to be produced in this area with sold out audiences requiring the theatre to add an additional show to accommodate the crowds. You can read the article here: ‘Rock of Ages’ opens Friday – Lincoln Times-News _ Lincoln Times-News.
I love partnering with local newspapers to provide images for published stories. Why should you? It’s about controlling your story and your brand. When you provide the images for articles about your brand, you guarantee the images will tell the story you want to tell and showcase your brand the way you want it to be shown.
This image was selected from many, and not just because it featured one of the main people interviewed in the article. It was selected because it shows:
- The live band in the background promises live rock music
- The rocker girls in the mid-ground reinforce the rock music message but also add an edge. This is not a play for little kids
- The action up front shows an aggressive story and the costumes and colors reinforce the 1980’s theme of the show.
This image was also chosen for what was not shown. There are parts of the set that had not been completed and parts of the story that could not be shown without giving away too much of the plot. The interview took place during rehearsals before everything was ready for the public. Choosing this image portrayed the production in it’s completed stage even though there were still hours and hours of work and rehearsals to complete before opening night.
Make sure you are prepared for your next interview or media promotion with images that tell your story the way you want it told.
