New Adventures, New Headshots

Jeremy Homesley describes himself as a writer, actor, and farmer. After meeting and working with him for a while, I think Jeremy would probably tell you he would have a hard time putting those three things in some type of preferential order. Jeremy is about to start on a new adventure involving some big life changes. He is getting ready to quit his day job, leave the family farm, and move to upstate New York to focus on his writing and acting careers. If that’s not enough of an adventure, he plans to walk there. Jeremy is about to walk about 1,000 miles on the Appalachian trail from North Carolina to New York. After spending some time learning about his plans, it quickly became obvious that we weren’t going to shoot these pictures in a studio. Jeremy might be leaving the family farm in North Carolina, but he wants to bring it with him on his move to New York.

As a story teller himself, it was important that his portraits told his personal story. Working together we chose shooting locations based on backgrounds that portrayed Jeremy’s history. Seeing the final pictures he was excited to be able to tell stories about growing up on the farm like pointing out the stump of the first tree he felled by hand.

Here’s what Jeremy had to say about the experience:

Huge thanks to @pauljensenphotography for setting this session up for me. First photo shoot ever, in a highly successful attempt to get my first set of actual true form professional headshots. Learned a ton, and got some great stuff. I may be the living definition of amateur, but Paul and his wife Stacy were amazing, made me feel like I almost knew what I was doing!

Thanks so much Paul. So awesome to work with you, and I’m positive we will again in the future. These pictures have already helped a ton!
